The 14th edition of GLOBSEC Bratislava Forum – aspires to look beyond the current grim picture of the state of international affairs and the disruptive narratives engulfing our societies. GLOBSEC 2019 will zoom in on opportunities to bridge the divisions and reconnect with each other, thus rethinking our collaborative effort to build a prosperous, secure and sustainable future. We need to rediscover our values. We will search for ways to achieve this goal within five streams of key topics shaping our future – European integration, defence and security in the transatlantic sphere, technology as a benefactor and a threat, sustainable societies and, finally, challenges to democracy and liberal order.
How do bots cheat on us?
On Monday, June 3, 13:00 CEST, Res Publica Foundation together with Front Europejski, Kultura Niepodległa and Alliance4Europe host an event “How do bots cheat on us?” in Gdansk, where invited experts Agnieszka Holland, Maia Mazurkiewicz (Front Europejski), Wojciech Przybylski (Res Publica / Visegrad Insight), Anna Gielewska (Fundacja Reporterów) will lead a discussion to answer the following questions:
Why are we fooled by false information? How does this affect political choices? How are bots used to extort our money? How does the European Union intend to deal with these problems?

On Thursday, May 23, Dobromir Cias, CEO of ABTShield will participate in the interactive round table “Boosting Polish Startups at the Global Scale” organised by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Embassy of the United States of America ahead of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2019, an annual event where entrepreneurs present their innovative solutions to global challenges.

European Parliamentary #Futures
Presentation of a report by Visegrad Insight, Konrad Adenauer Foundation and ABTSHIELD. While most forecasts focus on seat projections, Visegrad/Insight took this a step further and mapped out four divergent political dynamics that would emerge after the ballots are closed in late May 2019. ABTShield helped explain the fallout from digital disinformation narratives in the upcoming electoral game.

A public seminar by The German Marshall Fund of the U.S.
The seminar was an off-the-record discussion. Our partners mentioned reports and research prepared by ABTShield team on online trolling and bots behaviour. The round-table gathered a dozen of public authorities, NGOs, companies and research community that is involving in combating hate speech online. ABTShield arguments pointed to artificially amplified hate-speech that need automated solutions.
Seminar on Strategic Communication in Poland
ABTSHIELD partner participated in a roundtable seminar organised by Pulaski Foundation think tank in Warsaw to discuss challenges to strategic communication in Poland. Members of the panel involved representatives of government, military academy, think tanks and civil society. Poland is currently developing this competence in effort to combat disinformation.
Euronest Parliamentary Assembly
ABTSHIELD has been presented for the first time by Dobromir Ciaś, the Managing Director, EDGE NPD during a presentation and exchange of views on the disinformation threats faced by the EU and the Eastern Partnership countries. ABTShield has been described as one of ‘Effective tools for building a technological shield against bots and trolls in Europe’.
